Mayor Welch: Public servant and economist.
Driven by the belief that democracy relies on active citizen involvement, Gerry Welch has served on the Webster Groves City Council and as mayor. She has represented our city with energy, insight, and compassion – from facilitating citizen input on critical issues to testifying on municipal threats in Jefferson City to touring schoolchildren through City Hall.
Mayor Welch is an economist and college professor with degrees from Seton Hill and Marquette University. She is co-author with her husband Patrick of eleven editions of Economics: Theory & Practice, a definitive college textbook. She has also worked extensively in strategic planning and management training.
